In 2019 they received a diploma in animation and concept art from Vancouver Film School, and completed a BFA in Illustration from Emily Carr University of Art + Design in 2026. They’ve exhibited in various shows since 2016, including in underground galleries and the Gordon Smith Gallery of Canadian Art, and hold various awards in multiple arts fields. In the past they’ve worked in marketing, film, and independent animation. Sometimes they do music marketing materials, and are a vinyl DJ. They take a fascination with the intersections of queer identity, rock n’ roll, and horror. The more guts the better. Most of their practice is digital, but often preliminaries, thumbnailing, or early drafting are done in charcoal, ink pen or mechanical pencil on paper. Sometimes they paint with ink or draw in dip pen. This website mostly highlights their tougher or sleazier work, which is what they really love doing. Creatives they admire include Dennis Cooper, REX, Rimbaud, Steve Albini, Poppy Z. Brite, Russ Meyer, Pasolini, R. Crumb, Shintaro Kago, Eric Stanton, Gregg Araki, Derf, M. Much to their displeasure, they discover that the town is in a time loop from the 1900s, haunted by doppelgangers, able to morph into the form of any person, living or dead. The story centered primarily around Billy McCauley III and Valentine “Val” Reid, the guitarist and the drummer respectively, who are old friends often at odds. The work explored band dynamics, a burgeoning romance, and the fundamental terror of having to beat a monster in your friend’s image to death with a 2x4.
