THE DAY AFTER
WE KILLED CHRISTIAN REYES
“Once these men think I’m no better than meat, I have the advantage.”
Scotty and Frankie have been on the road for a day. A man has been dead two.
The Day After We Killed Christian Reyes is an 18+ 17-page short horror comic about Frankie and Scotty, two musicians in the 1970s who accidentally kill a young man through an unintentional overdose. Narrated by Frankie, a strung-out sort-of-junkie from The Bronx, he reflects on the last couple of days in his life, and his unrequited love for his younger bass player, Scotty, who Frankie had initially met in his past life as a street hustler in Manhattan.
The comic was started as a grad project at Emily Carr University of Art & Design in 2024, but took overtime and was completed later in 2025. It’s currently unavailable in full while in a backtrack revisory phase. You can see some of the art, though.
CW: extreme violence, explicit sexual content, usage of derogatory slurs, blood, body horror, heroin use, needles, dismemberment, and drug overdose.
